~ Handling Gerbils ~

Hey! Wondering how to properly handle your
gerbils? Well, You've come to the right place!
First of all, you will want to hold your gerbil
as if it were a baby. Don't cradle it, but expect it to commonly try to jump if you have just got
it.
When catching it, scoop it up medium speed
and don't hesitate, or else it could scare him.
First try just holding it in your palm, stroking
its back softly. Hold it fairly close to your chest so it doesn't get any ideas about jumping.
Next, make sure you're holding it over something soft, so if you accidently drop it or if it jumps out of your hand, it will land on something soft. Some Quick-Tips on Handling gerbils:
- Don't expect your gerbil to be tame/calm at first; it takes time.
- Do make sure to be gentle; gerbils are sensitive, and if you squeeze it too hard, it
could bite you, injure the gerbil, or obviously won't trust you anymore.
-Before you hold the gerbil, give it a treat so it knows it can trust you, and most likely won't bite you.
